Wash and define

Wash and define

A wash, a stretch and a pattern that holds.

A wash is where a shape starts. We detangle in sections, stretch the hair with a blow-dry on low heat, and then define it the way it will wear: a wash-and-go, a set of coils, a twist-out or flat twists. Choose a wash and stretch to arrive ready for a cut, or a defining service to leave with a finished style.

What to expect

  • Wash and stretch, about an hour

  • Wash-and-go, 75 to 90 minutes

  • Twist-out set, two to two and a half hours

  • Flat twists and cornrows, 1½ to 3 hours

Questions about this service

What is the difference between a wash and stretch and a wash-and-go?

A wash and stretch ends with your hair stretched and smooth, ready to cut or style. A wash-and-go ends with defined coils that hold their pattern, and a twist-out set ends with twists that you take down at home.

How long will my definition last?

It varies with your hair, the weather and how you sleep. Your stylist tells you how to keep it going and when to refresh it.

Can I take down a twist-out myself?

Yes. Let the twists dry all the way through, then separate them with a little oil on your fingers. We show you how at the end of the visit.
